Have you heard? We’re really pleased to be presenting Prokofiev’s masterpiece, Peter and the Wolf in a few weeks’ time! Our 18-piece Essential Orchestra have been invited back to participate at Perth Festival of the Arts at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 19th May and we’re looking forward as always to returning to the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, on Sunday 20th May.   You might remember Peter and the Wolf from your own childhood; with catchy musical themes and animal characters, it’s easy to see why it has been used time and again as a compelling introduction to instruments of the orchestra, in schools and in concert halls over the years. We’re inviting committed young musicians across the central belt to collaborate with cutting-edge international percussionist, Colin Currie (one of the most respected players in the world) and our very own percussion superstar, Owen Gunnell on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd April at Platform (Glasgow) - here’s how to get involved: If you, or someone you teach, is a percussionist currently working to a Grade 6 level or above, and would like to participate in the weekend of workshops led by Colin and Owen, as well as take up the opportunity to appear in a public performance alongside the professionals (Sunday 22nd April), please email us for an application pack.Sessions on both days run from 10.30am - 4.30pm. We’re really disappointed to announce that we’ve decided to cancel tomorrow’s performance of Tartan Tales at the Caird Hall.  Due to safety concerns and the ongoing adverse weather conditions, many of our musicians are unable to travel from the central belt. We’re also aware that much of the audience will have difficulty making their way to Dundee.This was our only planned visit for 2018, but we’ve been working hard to arrange an alternative performance of one of our other concerts, also at the Caird Hall, and are pleased to present Gypsy Jazz, featuring toe-tapping tunes (that’ll have the whole family literally dancing in the aisles) on Saturday 19 May.  If you've purchased a ticket for Tartan Tales, please hold onto it, as it'll be valid for Gypsy Jazz and we'd
